Benjamin Burrell is a London-born composer, orchestrator, arranger, and musical director. He studied saxophone, piano, and jazz at Trinity College of Music and holds a Masters in Scoring for Film, Television & Video Games from Berklee College of Music.

In theatre, Benjamin has worked as a composer and musical director for various productions, including "The Motive and The Cue" directed by Sam Mendes and written by Jack Thorne, "Best of Enemies" directed by Jeremy Herrin and written by James Graham, and "Blues for an Alabama Sky" directed by Lynette Linton. He also worked on the National Theatre's production of "A Taste of Honey" and was the composer and musical director for the play "Small Island" based on Andrea Levy's book. Benjamin has been recognized for his work, receiving the Musical Director Recognition Award at the Black British Theatre Awards in 2019.

On screen, Benjamin has composed the score for "Three Little Birds" written by Sir Lenny Henry and the teen-adventure feature "Shortcut." He has also scored independent short films, including "Shiney" which received an award at the Rouen Film Festival.

Since 2019, Benjamin has served as the Musical Director of The House and Garage Orchestra. In 2020, he collaborated Chineke! Juniors for their performances on Britain's Got Talent and was commissioned to write for the Brixton Chamber Orchestra in 2023 for their South London Estates Christmas tour.

His assistant musical director credits include productions such as “Get Up Stand Up”, "Memphis," "One Love," "Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill," and "A Clockwork Orange."
